The Whim, St. Peter

The Whim Gully is located in the area of Speightstown, St. Peter and the gully drains into the Speightstown Canal and into the Caribbean Sea. This gully has been often used for hiking using the notable Arbib Nature Trail and also as a passageway for locals travelling to neighbouring villages.

This gully is set to be the starting point to revisiting the 2002-5 Gully Ecosystem Restoration Study. The aim is to create a comprehensive plan for this and previously studied gullies in Barbados.

Recently the Minister of Environment (Hon. Adrian Forde) and M.P. for St. Peter, Hon. Colin Jordan visited The Whim along with officers of the Ministry of Environment and members of the community to briefly assess the gully.
