The Ministry of Environment and National Beautification, Green and Blue Economy is pleased to once again be working along with local artists to highlight biodiversity and the environment during our National Environment Month. This will be done through our annual Virtual Art Exhibition which this year will be run from June 17, 2024, for a 30-day duration hosted right here on our website and social media pages.

Of note, 17 June is celebrated yearly worldwide as World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought and this year’s theme is ‘United for Land. Our Legacy. Our Future’. It is championed by the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification and Drought (UNCCD) of which Barbados is a Party, since 1997. #united4land
This year’s Exhibition features 30 select pieces from local artists showcasing a variety of styles and media, under the theme ‘Our Land, Our Future’. These pieces emphasise the need to work together to cherish the resources that come from the scarce land this tiny island provides in order to secure our future, especially for the next generation. This exhibition was curated by the talented Ms. Oneka Small.
Stay tuned to Biodiversity Barbados to view the talent of some of our local artists. See the exhibit here!
