Celebrating Biodiversity and the Environment with Art
On June 30th, 2021, the Minister of Environment and National Beautification, the Honourable Adrian Forde M.P., launched the Virtual Art Exhibition themed ‘Celebrating Biodiversity and the Environment with Art’. The exhibition was in commemoration of International Biodiversity Day, Land Degradation Day and Barbados’ first activity for the UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration.
Curated by Ms. Oneka Small (far right), the art exhibition comprised pieces created solely by local artists in a variety of media including paintings, sculpture and photography and highlighting nature through the eyes of the creatives. The virtual exhibition explores themes of biodiversity, local flora and fauna, nature and ecosystem restoration. The exhibition is a different way to raise awareness of biodiversity and the environment.
The virtual art exhibition will be hosted on Biodiversity Barbados until the end of July 2021. All members of the public are invited to visit the page and view the amazing work of our artists!
